Set how your e-mail is tracked

Can I do this task?

You can set which type of e-mail messages are tracked as activities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. The tab is available only in the Web application.

  1. Click the File tab, and then click Options.
  2. In the Set Personal Options dialog box, on the E-mail tab, you can choose one of the following options:
    • All e-mail messages

      Select this option if you want all of your e-mail messages to be saved as activities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

    • E-mail messages in response to a CRM e-mail

      Select this option if you want only the replies to the e-mail messages that are already tracked in Microsoft Dynamics CRM to be saved as e-mail activities.

    • E-mail messages from CRM Leads, Contacts, and Accounts

      Select this option if you want to track e-mail messages from a Microsoft Dynamics CRM lead, contact, or account.

    • E-mail messages from Microsoft Dynamics CRM records that are e-mail enabled

      Select this option to track e-mail messages from all record types, including custom record types that contain an e-mail address field.

  3. To save your changes and close the dialog box, click OK.

Important

After you save your e-mail message as a Microsoft Dynamics CRM e-mail activity, the saved message can be accessed by anyone who has access to your activities in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
