Change the business unit for a record

Can I do this task?

You can change the business unit for an individual facility, equipment, or user.

Warning

By changing the business unit for a user, you remove all security role assignments for the user. At least one security role must be assigned to the user in the new business unit.

  1. In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, click Administration, and then click Business Units.
  2. Double-click a business unit to open it.
  3. Under Organization, click Facilities/Equipment.

    - OR -

    Under Organization, click Users.

  4. Select the facility, equipment, or user for which you want to change the business unit.
  5. On the Actions menu, click Change Parent Business.
  6. In the Change Parent Business dialog box, select a new business unit, and then click OK.
  7. To save your changes and close the dialog box, click OK.
