This task requires the System Administrator or System Customizer security role A defined set of privileges. The security role assigned to a user determines which tasks the user can perform and which parts of the user interface the user can view. All users must be assigned at least one security role in order to access the system. or equivalent permissions. In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, click Business Management, and then click Currencies.
On the Actions toolbar, click New.
Click the Lookup button next to the Currency Code box, and then select the name of the currency that you want to add.
Microsoft Dynamics CRM automatically fills in the Currency Name and Currency Symbol boxes based on the currency you selected.
In the Currency Precision box, type the number of decimal places you want to display for this currency.
You can type a different name in the Currency Name box, if desired.
You can enter a different symbol in the Currency Symbol box, if desired.
Under Currency Conversion, in the Exchange Rate box, type the rate of exchange between your base currency The primary or default currency in which your organization conducts business. Any transactions in other currencies are automatically converted to the base currency in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM database, using the exchange rate defined in the record for that currency. and the new currency you are adding.
Click Save or Save and Close.
To deactivate or activate a currency, on the Actions toolbar, click More Actions, and then click Deactivate or Activate. Deactivated currency records are kept, but cannot be assigned to other records.
Important
The base currency cannot be deleted.
Note
Currencies that are in use by other records cannot be deleted, only deactivated.
Deactivating currency records does not remove the currency information stored in existing records, such as opportunities or orders. The original currency information stays in those records, but the currency cannot be selected for new transactions.
To add a custom currency, after Step 2 in the preceding instructions, click to select Custom. Type the currency code, name, precision, and symbol for the custom currency, and then proceed to Step 7.
