Create or edit a user chart

Can I do this task?

  1. On the main page of the list of records, on the Charts tab, in the Charts group, click New Chart.

    - OR -

    To edit an existing chart, click the charts bar on the right or top of the list of records. Click the arrow next to the chart name. In the list, click the name of the chart that you want to edit, and then on the Charts tab, in the Charts group, click Edit Chart.

  2. Format the chart.
  3. To save the chart and close the designer, on the Design tab, in the Save group, click Save and Close.

    - OR -

    To close the chart without saving it, on the Design tab, in the Close group, click Close Designer.

    Note

    The chart obtains the data from the view that is selected for a record type. A chart automatically gets updated every time that you change the view in the list of records. However, if the chart has been idle for some time, we recommend that you click Refresh Chart on the Charts tab so that the chart and the list of records show the synchronized data.

Important

You can create and attach charts to only those record types in Microsoft Dynamics CRM that support the new ribbon interface in the Web application. This is because all of the chart controls are only present in the ribbon interface of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
