Add or remove security from a field

You can restrict access to or set field-level security for custom fields:

1. In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, click Customizations, and then click Customize the System.
2. Under Components, expand Entities.
3. Expand the list below the entity that has the custom field you want to secure.
4. Click Fields.
5. Double-click the field you want to open.
6. Next to Field Security, choose to add or remove security to the field.

   To secure the field, click Enable.

   - OR -

   To remove security from the field, click Disable.

7. Click Save or Save and Close.
8. When your customizations are complete, publish them:
   • To publish customizations for only the component that you are currently editing, on the Home tab, in the Save group, click Publish.
   • To publish customizations for all unpublished components at one time, click Publish All Customizations.

Note

• You cannot change the permissions on a field that you do not have permissions to access.
