Import Data Wizard - Review Settings and Import Data

This page helps you customize your settings before you submit the data for import. You can use this page to change duplicate-detection settings, specify an owner for the records being imported, and save the map settings as a new data map to be used later.

• To allow the Import Data Wizard to import duplicate records, in Allow Duplicates, click Yes.

  By default, if duplicate detection is enabled for the record types in which you are importing data, duplicate records are not imported.

• To specify a user as an owner of the imported records, in the Select Owner for the Imported Records section, click the Lookup button , and select the user.

  If your data map and source file contains the owner information, the ownership will be assigned to the owner as defined in the data map metadata and users.csv.

  Important

  To make a user an owner of the imported records, you must have a privilege to create records on behalf of that user. If you do not have sufficient privileges, regardless of whether you specify a user in Select Owner for the Imported Records, the imported records for which you do not have privileges will be owned by you. For more information, see How Users Records Are Imported.

• To save the map settings used during this import as a new data map to be used later for similar imports, specify a name for the data map.

  The new map will be available under Custom Maps in the Select Data Map list the next time you start an import.
