Import Data Wizard - Review File Upload Summary

After you upload your file for import, this page shows a summary of the uploaded files. For example, if you upload a CSV file, the wizard shows the name and size of the file. If you import a compressed (.zip) file, the wizard shows a list of all the files in the compressed file with their respective file sizes. You can use this information to verify which files from the uploaded .zip files will be processed for import.

The Delimiters section of the Import Data Wizard shows the default field and data delimiters that will be applied to the files that you are importing. You can edit the field and data delimiters if you want the new delimiters to be applied to your source files.

The default delimiter for field is comma (,) and for data is double quotation marks (").

The other supported delimiters for field include: colon (:), semicolon (;), and tab character (/t).

The other supported delimiters for data include: Single quotation mark ('), and None.

Example of field delimiter:

Company Name,Address,City,State

Examples of data delimiter:

Company Name,Address

"Fabrikam, Inc.","150 A Street"

Note

Because an XML file does not use delimiters, if you have uploaded a file that is in the XML Spreadsheet 2003 format, or a .zip file that contains XML Spreadsheet 2003 files, the delimiter information will not be available.
