After a contract template A framework for an e-mail message, contract, or article. Templates are used to ensure consistent layouts and content in similar types of documents. is saved, the template is read-only and cannot be changed.
In the Navigation Pane, click Settings, click Templates, and then click Contract Templates.
On the Actions toolbar, click New.
You must enter information in the following fields:
Name
Enter the name of the contract. This name appears in the list of available contract templates.
Abbreviation
Enter an abbreviation of the contract template name.
Billing Frequency
Select how often the customer should be billed.
Allotment Type
Select whether the cases should be tracked by number of cases or total number of minutes that customer service representatives (CSRs) work on the case. You cannot change the allotment type for contract lines in contracts created from a contract template.
Calendar
Mark the days of the week and time your organization does not offer customer support. Green dots indicate the times that support is offered.
Decide whether Microsoft Dynamics CRM should track the number of cases or the total number of minutes that customer service representatives (CSRs) work on the case.
Use the Description box to enter a description of the template or any notes about how this template is to be used.
Click Save or Save and Close.

If you need to back up your templates, or export them for use in a different implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM, you can export them as part of exporting customizations. More information: Export a solution
