Changing Regional and Language Options for Your Organization

You can change how Microsoft Dynamics CRM displays dates, times, numbers, and currencies.

Important

If you are running Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook, before you can enable additional languages, you must download one or more Language Packs on the same computer.

Setting the Base Language

The base language determines default settings for regional and language options in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Implementation Guide. After the base language is set, it cannot be changed.

Installing Language Packs

Before you can enable additional languages for your users, you must install Language Packs on the server that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM. For more information, see the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Implementation Guide.

Enabling and Disabling Languages

You can enable or disable available languages in the Settings area. More information: Language Settings Dialog Box

Adding and Removing Currencies

The base currency for your organization's implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is set during the installation process on the server. After the base currency is set, it cannot be changed.

However, if your organization uses more than one currency to track financial transactions, you can add more currencies to your implementation of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. More information: Language Settings Dialog Box

Deactivating and Activating Currency Records

You cannot delete currency records that are being used by other records, such as opportunities or invoices. However, you can deactivate unnecessary currency records, and they will no longer be available in Microsoft Dynamics CRM for future transactions.
